Till Eulenspiegel causes puckish havoc, meeting with the sternest punishment but seeming still to survive it. Strauss’s pantomime picture of provincial Germany overflows with mischief, whilst Symphonia domestica, performed on 24 January, throws the spotlight on someone else altogether…
