Mahler Piano Quartet Movement in A minor
Mozart Piano Quartet in G Minor Allegro
Schumann Piano Quartet in E-flat Andante Cantabile
Brahms Piano Quartet G minor Rondo alla Zingarese: Presto
In anticipation of the 2010/11 Mahler celebration season, the Foyle Future Firsts present a programme of chamber music, including the Piano Quartet Movement by Gustav Mahler. Whilst it is one of his early works, it is the only piece of chamber music known to be written by the composer and reflects the great German tradition of Brahms and Schumann, who will also featured in the concert - along with Mozart’s Piano Quartet, one of the earliest major works for the form.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra Foyle Future Firsts Programme is a dedicated apprenticeship programme for 16 gifted and talented young instrumentalists embarking on professional orchestral careers.
The principal funder of the Foyle Future Firsts programme is The Foyle Foundation.
Come along to the Level 2 Bar at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall to hear this concert. It's free and there are no tickets - just turn up.
